covid guidelines

The Maryland and Delaware Library Association Offices are actively monitoring developments regarding COVID-19 in an effort to provide a safe conference experience for all attendees. We will adapt our COVID precautions as needed based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and requirements of federal, state, and local regulations.

At this time, MLA/DLA strongly recommends attendees take the following measures, when possible, to protect against the transmission of COVID-19:

  • Wearing a high quality and well-fitting mask that covers your nose and mouth when in close contact with others.

  • Vaccination, final dose administered at least 14 days prior to the event, OR Negative COVID-19 PCR or Rapid test administered within 72 hours prior to the start of the event.

  • Frequent hand washing and sanitizing.

  • Social distancing to maintain six feet of distance from other attendees when possible.

MLA/DLA will not require proof of vaccination or a negative test or face mask wearing to attend the conference. The above guidelines are strongly recommended for the health and safety of all attendees.

What you can do?

Prior to Conference:

  • Do not attend the Conference if you have knowingly been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19 within the fourteen (14) days prior to the Conference or if you are experiencing or have experienced COVID-19 symptoms within the fourteen (14) days prior to the Conference.

  • Do not attend the conference if you are sick.

  • Contact the MLA Office (mla@mdlib.org), after alerting your organization, if you are no longer able to attend.

During Conference:

  • Wear a mask if you are concerned about being exposed while attending the conference.

  • Allow for social distancing when possible. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.

  • Visit the Registration Desk to pick up masks, test kits, and hand sanitizer throughout the conference.

We request that you understand that:

  • Attending the MLA/DLA Conference could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.

  • You agree to release and hold harmless the Maryland Library Association (MLA) and the Delaware Library Association (DLA) its representatives, facilities, and vendors from and against all claims of damages and liability resulting from participation in the event/meeting.
