"Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is home to an incredible amount of plant and animal diversity in its three           major habitats – forest, marsh and shallow water. The refuge contains one-third of Maryland's tidal wetlands,         which makes it an ecologically important area within the state."

"Underground Railroad ‘conductor’ Harriet Tubman was born in Dorchester County probably in the 1820s. At            this small museum in downtown Cambridge — just a few miles from where she grew up — learn of the                    strength, courage, and determination of this remarkable woman."

Take in the local history and beautiful sites along this brick road that runs from the water to downtown                    Cambridge. This is the street that James Michener writes about in Chesapeake, and it played a role in the riots        of the 1960's. It also features an old church with a graveyard.
